  Assembling a strategic, realistic list of schools where you'll apply — a list that reflects your hopes as well as your high school record — is critical to a satisfactory outcome. • "Why X College" supplementary essays
  Selective colleges and universitities that accept the Common App often require a supplemental essay to assess how serious the applicant is about applying to, and ultimately attending, that particular school. Such essays, too often overlooked by parents and students, are critical to applicant chances. I provide guidance on how students should prepare for these essays, with specific research steps before diving into their writing.
